Level 1 Certificate in Network Construction Operations (Water)

Operatives assisting work being undertaken on water mains & service installations within the UK networks.


To provide learners with basic skills and knowledge to undertake work safely as part of a team working on the UK Water Networks.


Candidates to achieve CABWI Level 1 Certificate in Network Construction Opeartions(Water) and Energy & Utility Skills accreditation, which is the recommended minimum requirement for persons undertaking work on the UK Water Networks.

To enable candidates to demonstrate competence against the EUS framework, allowing Water Industry Registration Scheme (WIRS) status to be achieved with Lloyd’s Register.

Candidates must obtain 11 credits from the mandatory units and a minimum of 2 credits from each of the two optional groups available.

On completion of the Level 1 Certificate candidates may  progress onto the Level 2 Diplomas, specialising in repair and maintenance, main laying or service laying.


The course will cover:


Trainer/Assessor led theory and practical sessions, followed by awarding body written and practical assessment.


Candidates must possess a current National Water Hygiene qualification, and SHEA Water is mandatory for EU Skills registration. Additional training can be provided where required.
