Participants

All gas industry personnel involved in operational works on the Gas Networks and certain types of meter installations including, but not strictly limited to those who are, or will become:  Named Authorising Engineers or  Named Competent Persons for Routine Operations.

Aim

To ensure nominated individuals satisfy Gas Network/EU Skills national standards applicable to Authorising Engineers or Competent Persons for Routine Operations

Objectives

On completion of the course candidates will be able to:

State the roles and responsibilities outlined in SCO 5
State the legislation and drivers for Routine Operations
Describe the deviation and communication process
Demonstrate application of Routine Operations

Trainer led theory, case studies and written assessments

Pre-requisites

To be technically competent persons nominated by their Reviewing Manager. For Authorising Engineers to be a person, having the ability, appropriate training, knowledge and experience to authorise work to be undertaken in a safe and proper manner. For Competent Persons, having the ability, appropriate training, knowledge and experience to supervise and or carry out work on site in a safe and proper manner. Candidates must posses the appropriate skills to carry out their role, this includes suitable reading & writing skills.
