To provide the participant with the basic skills and knowledge to safely carry out emergency First Aid.

Objectives

  • Identify safe methods of preserving life and promoting recovery
  • Correctly assess the risks from the environment to themselves and to the injured person(s)
  • Demonstrate the necessary practical skills to assist the recovery of the injured person(s)
  • Demonstrate effective resuscitation
    • Content

      The course will cover:
       
    • Principles of first aid
    • Environmental risks
    • Summoning assistance
    • Assess and prioritise injuries
    • Correct application of first aid
    • Resuscitation and care of the unconscious casualty
    • Methods

      Lecture, demonstration and practical application.
