All gas industry personnel involved in operational and or minor works on the gas networks and certain types of meter installations including, but not strictly limited to those who are, or will become:  Named Competent Persons for either Permits to Work and / or Forms of Authority

Aim

To ensure nominated individuals satisfy Gas Network/EU Skills national standards applicable to competent persons for Permits To Work and/or Forms Of Authority

Objectives

On completion of the course candidates will be able to:

State the roles and responsibilities outlined in the procedure with specific emphasis on Competent Persons
State when the various permitry types are used
Demonstrate application of Permits to Work and Forms of Authority

Trainer led theory and written assessments

Pre-requisites

Nominations from Reviewing Managers for competent persons who carry out physical works on gas apparatus. A Competent Person has the ability, appropriate training, knowledge and experience to supervise and or carry out physical work on site in a safe and proper manner. Candidates must posses the appropriate skills to carry out their role, this includes suitable reading & writing skills.
